Ok, so they have everything they need to be law abiding citizens in Reno, but they are still cracking on them? If you don't like solicitors so much, don't tolerate them, pass a law that bans them, like they did in Colorado. But again, look at their headlines, they aren't exactly showing the best of what's around. Here is a list of things they are reporting on:
Three Reno schools are on lockdown this morning
Learning about your lawyer
Sierra Fire Protection District faced with cutting services or raising taxes
Convicted murderer and rapist of a Sparks teenager sentenced
"Triangle of Life" theory challenged
Nevada boaters urged to check boats for invasive mussels before boating In California
Nevada GOP still looking for a place to continue convention
A double-digit drop in median home prices reported in Reno and Las Vegas areas
Nevada Highway Patrol sexual harassment lawsuit settled with award of $480,000 Good times in Reno! It doesn't end there though, they then make this gem of a statement, "There have been numerous door to door scams in the area and some burglaries connected to solicitors being in the area." Ok, I'm not claiming to be an expert on crime and how it happens, but I do know a little. So, it's spring time, going into Summer, it has been warming up from a winter time. It could either be that that is causing an increase in crime, or it could be the door-to-door solicitors. It might be the door-to-door solicitors, probably not, but there is an interesting article that connects directly a rise in temperature to a rise in crime. The interesting thing about their quote, it is not directly linking the solicitors, it is saying "burglaries connected to people being in the area." So, just because they are there, it means more crime is happening? Think it through NBC News 4! Just because people go door-to-door does not make them a criminal.
